As you can see, Redvers received another generous amount of snow this weekend. Our maintenance men are working hard to remove the snow from the streets and make a clear path for traffic. First we would like to inform residents that the wing on our grader blade can not be used due to the hardness of the snow. The wing is what is used to avoid blocking driveways with a ridge of snow, but if we were to use it today it would get damaged. If you currently have a ridge in your driveway, the loader will be coming around to clear it. But, as the loader work is much more time consuming, and operates slower than the grader, it might be some time after the grader passes that the ridge is cleared. If you are needing to get out of your driveway before the loader can get to you, you will have to clear it yourself.
The priority areas for snow removal are (in no specific order):
All side streets will be cleared once the priority areas have been done first. There is no guarantee how quick this will be done, but be assured that it will as soon as our crew can get to it. We request that vehicles be moved off of the streets if possible for easy grader access and proper snow removal.
Once all the snow is cleared from the streets and service roads, the focus will then turn to the removal of the piled snow. Reminder that back alleys are not usually cleared by the town, but can be done if it is the only access to parking for your residence. If there is street parking available, associated back alleys will not be cleared.
We ask that residents try their best to be patient as we try to keep up with mother nature!
