The warm weather is finally here! With it we bring a few reminders to the residents of Redvers.
As the snow fades away we would ask that you keep your property in the best possible shape. This includes: maintaining fences, trimming trees, keeping grass cut and bagging clippings (as putting them on the street can plug sewer lines), and removing derelict vehicles and garbage.
Please note that when hiring contractors they are responsible for removing all refuse/garbage from any kind of work such as shingles, renovations, additions, tree trimmings, etc. They must dispose of ALL refuse themselves. If you, as the tax payer, are doing the work yourself we will dispose of the refuse for you. Please ensure that any loose refuse must be bagged or boxed.
Monday is Tree Day – this is the specific day maintenance goes around town to collect tree trimmings.
Thursday is Garbage Day – this is the specific day maintenance picks up any garbage that Hortness Enterprises has left behind, or anything that is too large.
Please note we may pick up some items on other days if there is spare time. We will try our best to collect on or before the assigned days. Please be patient as there is always a large amount to be picked up throughout the town.
We DO NOT collect refrigerators, freezers, or anything with freon. You are responsible for their disposal.
Pet owners: please remember to be courteous to your neighbours and fellow residents. If your pet defecates somewhere other than your property, you are obligated to pick it up. Also, if your yard becomes a nuisance due to pet feces you are obligated to clean it up. Failure to comply will result in a bylaw infraction.
One more reminder regarding building permits:
– Decks over 100 square feet or over 2ft off the ground requires a building and development permit, which must be obtained BEFORE work starts.
– Fences do not require permits but must abide by the following guidelines: no more than 8ft tall on the sides or back property lines, and no more than 4ft tall on the front property line.
