The Town of Redvers would like to notify residents that at the end of October, Green Drop Tree Care will be returning to Redvers to Basal Spray all healthy elm trees.
This will be done at no cost to property owners.
The purpose of Basal Spray is to prevent the spread of Dutch Elm disease, and acts as a repellent to the Dutch Elm beetles. It is applied to the bottom portion of the trees.
Green Drop will be driving a vehicle with the Green Drop logo, and also wearing uniforms to be easily identified.
Just a reminder that once an elm tree is infected with Dutch Elm Disease, there is nothing that can be done to save the tree and it must be removed. The Town of Redvers plans to re-survey the Town again next year to screen for remaining diseased trees, in hopes to completely eradicate Dutch Elm Disease from the town limits.
A copy of this notice will be in your utility bills. Please call the Town Office at 306-452-3533 if you have any questions.
